Actxa, a health technology company headquartered in Singapore, has unveiled its latest innovation, the Spark Band, at IFA Berlin 2026. This screenless wearable is designed for day-and-night use, offering comprehensive health monitoring features. Notably, it incorporates Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology, which is not meant for medical diagnosis but for general wellness purposes. The Spark Band’s BGEM technology facilitates an AI Glucose Snapshot, delivering an estimated glucose range within approximately one minute. This feature encourages users to observe glucose trends in conjunction with other health data collected throughout the day, particularly around meals.
In addition to glucose monitoring, the Spark Band encompasses a suite of health and fitness tracking capabilities. Through the Actxa app, users can track sleep stages, receive sleep scores, and monitor overnight signals. The recovery feature juxtaposes sleep heart rate variability with a personal seven-day baseline, offering a 30-day recovery trend. For fitness enthusiasts, the band records activity levels, intensity minutes, and provides metrics such as VO2 Max and Fitness Age. A Target Heart Rate Zone feature is also included, alerting users via LED and vibrations when they reach their desired training zone, eliminating the need for a display screen.
The Spark Band’s design prioritizes minimal distractions, relying on LED indicators and vibrations for notifications such as movement reminders and alarms. Actxa claims the device boasts a battery life of up to 14 days and is crafted with a zinc-alloy casing and a soft nylon braided strap, weighing approximately 22 grams. The band is available in Titanium Silver with Jet Black accents and a Midnight Black strap, in sizes S/M and M/L. It is water-resistant with an IP68 rating, capable of withstanding immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes under certain conditions. A full charge takes up to 90 minutes, and it connects via Bluetooth Low Energy, supporting Android 8.0 and iOS 15.6 or newer versions.
With pre-orders beginning on September 24, 2026, at SGD 199 or USD 149, the Spark Band will be introduced across select markets in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa plans to offer promotional discounts during the pre-order phase, including a 40% early-bird discount until October 31, a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer for a limited time post-launch. The official launch and fulfillment are slated for November 18, 2026.
Actxa, founded in 2015, continues to develop wearable devices and proprietary technologies aimed at enhancing personal health and wellness tracking. While the Spark Band’s AI Glucose Snapshot is designed for wellness and awareness, Actxa emphasizes that it is not intended for managing or diagnosing medical conditions such as diabetes. Users are advised to consider that battery performance may vary, and water resistance may decrease with regular use over time.
