Anthropic’s Technological Leap Rivals SpaceX in 2026’s Largest IPO Race

by admin477351

Anthropic is positioning itself as a formidable contender against SpaceX in the quest for the largest initial public offering (IPO) anticipated in 2026. As an artificial intelligence company, Anthropic’s increasing revenue and valuation in private markets are fueling speculations about its potential IPO. Although it hasn’t yet entered the public trading arena, investor optimism suggests that Anthropic might go public by the last quarter of 2026. The company is reportedly on track to achieve an annualized revenue of approximately $65 billion, marking a significant rise from previous projections.

Currently valued at about $1 trillion in private markets, Anthropic stands among the most valuable privately held tech firms globally. This rapid valuation growth has led to conjectures that the company could secure an even higher valuation once it proceeds with an IPO. Meanwhile, SpaceX has established a commanding lead in the IPO race following its substantial public offering. Priced initially at $135 per share, SpaceX’s IPO achieved a valuation of roughly $1.78 trillion. Following its market debut, SpaceX’s share prices experienced strong growth, pushing its valuation past $2 trillion, although subsequent volatility affected its stock value amid ongoing investor concerns about its valuation and future financial commitments.

Despite SpaceX maintaining a leading position in terms of market value, Anthropic’s accelerating revenue growth suggests it might close this gap if it garners a significantly higher valuation at its public offering. The burgeoning interest in artificial intelligence could work in Anthropic’s favor, with investors showing increased enthusiasm for advanced AI systems. This trend has attracted substantial private investments, elevating expectations for the valuation of top AI companies. While OpenAI is also seen as a potential IPO candidate, it is not currently viewed as a primary competitor to SpaceX for the year’s largest IPO.

For Anthropic, the pivotal element will be the valuation it achieves at the time of its IPO announcement. With its current private valuation at about half of SpaceX’s market value, Anthropic would need a considerable valuation boost to surpass the space company. Should its revenue continue its rapid ascent and investors appraise it with a much higher valuation at IPO, Anthropic could potentially rival or even exceed SpaceX, claiming the title for the largest IPO of 2026. As of now, while SpaceX retains its lead, Anthropic is emerging as one of the most anticipated potential IPO candidates of the year.
