Bodo Ramelow, leading a German delegation, recently visited Da Nang, Vietnam, with the aim of enhancing partnerships between the city and German entities across multiple sectors. The delegation engaged in discussions with local authorities to assess the current state of socio-economic cooperation and identify new areas for collaboration, particularly focusing on education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.
Da Nang officials showed a keen interest in broadening their partnerships with German regions and institutions. They emphasized the importance of human resource development, vocational education, and German language training in their agenda. The city also encouraged increased German investment, particularly in high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation, viewing these as key areas for future growth and collaboration.
Ramelow underscored vocational education as a significant area for potential cooperation. He proposed the creation of joint training programs that would enable graduates to earn qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. Additionally, he expressed support for strengthening business connections and exploring new investment opportunities, highlighting the potential benefits of such endeavors for both sides.
Germany is recognized as one of Da Nang’s principal European partners, with their cooperation spanning various fields such as trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. This visit served to reaffirm both sides’ commitment to further expanding their economic and institutional partnerships, with an eye towards fostering greater collaboration and investment opportunities in the future.
