Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok extended his congratulations to newly inaugurated Polish President Krzysztof Nawrocki, expressing hope for strengthened ties between the two nations.
In a social media post, Sulyok praised Nawrocki’s leadership and commitment to historical perspective, stating, “Hungarian-Polish friendship is a lasting asset,” and voiced confidence in opening new chapters of cooperation within the EU, Visegrád Group, and on shared Christian values.
The Hungarian government views Nawrocki’s presidency as a positive development, potentially balancing Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s liberal administration. Relations between Poland and Hungary have faced strain since Poland’s 2024 elections, but Nawrocki’s leadership is seen as a chance to restore alignment, particularly on conservative issues.
President Sulyok also expressed his eagerness to host President Nawrocki at Sandor Palace in the near future.
